WIW - FFBO Edition

Nothing new and exciting here...

My daughter is 20 months old. Teething ended and she pretty much started sleeping through the night most nights a couple of months ago. She is stubborn and thrives on routine. The sleep part is good but on the rare occasion she does wake up now, there is no convincing her that it's not morning time. She just doesn't comprehend middle of the night wake ups anymore. This morning shortly after 3am she wakes up because she has soaked her diaper. I change her and try to get her back to sleep and she is having none of it. We normally get up around 5:30. At about 4:30 I give up. This morning is happening. We go and watch cartoons until dad wakes.

I had planned to wear the Charcoal version of the Ellen Tracy pencil skirt I got for $12.99 at costco. I had thought about some top and shoe options and had it narrowed down to a couple that I knew should work well with a pencil skirt. I just needed about 5 minutes to choose, pull it together, and pick some accessories.

I could not muster that this morning. Instead I walk in like a zombie, grab this dress, and slide on the sandals that were already out.

I also have crazy hair today. There was just no taming it. Instead of fighting with it I decided to put on red lipstick. In my brain crazy hair + red lipstick says intentional instead of I got no sleep and can't be bothered with my hair =)

Dress - Jones NY
Sandals - Dansko

Since the list is so short I'll also note that I'm wearing my Jockey Skimmies underneath and still loving them. http://www.jockey.com/en-US/Ca.....8;List=172

Abie I did not look that good when I was experiencing sleepless nights! And it seems so much harder when they have the odd wake up when they are generally sleeping through:). This s a great FFBO. Lovely style, beautiful colors and your hair looks gorgeous. And I do believe red lipstick is a style saver!

I love you in this dress Abie - the colours and shape are amazing on you. And I agree - red lipstick can just about solve any style crisis! You look gorgeous and no one will ever know...until you start nodding off around 2:00 this afternoon! (lol)

You look wonderful - I really love the added detail on the hem of the dress. The colour is perfect for you. I can only say that I have been there with the babies and no sleep. It gets better gradually! I can't believe you can look so fantastic with so little sleep. Have a great day!

Wow, you make the most gorgeous zombie I ever met! Wake me up at 3am and I look truly like death warmed over --- hey, I even manage to look like that waking at 6 some mornings!

Aren't FFBOs and *your* colour of lipstick the best pick-me-ups, though? I love how this dress seems to echo your pretty curls.

This dress is great on you. Excellent disguising of your tiredness.
All I can say about your DD is been there know what you're going through. Mine at almost 4 is now waking up from nightmares usually around 4:30 so no hope for sleep for me since alarm goes off at 5. It will pass as the earlier issues did.

I like your hair curly and a little wild!

I agree with Mani, you are one gorgeous looking zombie! I think the lipstick is a fabulous addition, and fully agree with your math there. When my hair looks like that it's a good day for me, red lipstick or not ;)

Ah, I remember those baby nights. A long way back. but also the baby smiles when they see your face. No greater happiness

You look pretty fab for all that!

You look lovely and especially for a sleep deprived mom of a young child.

Aren't dresses fabulous in their simplicity and ease of planning (or lack thereof)? The blues look beautiful with your dark hair and complexion.

You look so lovely in those bright colours - you'd never know you were up at 4.30 am!

When my kids were that small, I looked like a total wreck. I don't think red lipstick would been magical enough to fix me up. You look GORGEOUS! Love that blue dress on you and your hair is beautiful as-is :)
