WIW - Rainy day Stripes and Crocs

As I mentioned last night, it stormed all night last night and is expected to continue today. It was already raining when I came in this morning. I remembered after the post that I did have one pair of crocs that I thought would be suitable.

I think i'm going to try a pair of the crocs closed toe wedges as my ideal rain shoe would be closed toe, but not completely flat so that I can be above the puddles.

My workplace is very casual. I'm usually considered pretty dressed up for here. These crocs aren't exactly dressy, so I just built a casual outfit around it.

Probably not my most fab, but I think it works for today.

Top - Kiyonna
Clams - Ross (I keep forgetting to check the tag for the brand. I think it's an inexpensive Jr plus brand but they are holding up well. I will be looking for some nice replacements while the summer sales are going on as I only expect 1-2 seasons out of these)
Shoes- Crocs
Necklace - Premiere Designs

I love the knotting detail on this top Abie - so flattering. And your clams are the perfect length and taper. This is fab combination. I must tell you that your makeup is beautiful - not overdone, just subtle and polished.

Well, there are Crocs, and there are CROCS! These, at least from a few feet aware, have a nice shape and construction. I agree that they'll only work when the rain is rather warm -- hardly for an April Shower in Chicago! Still, you look casual but put together and fab in the middle of the downpour. I must say that, after a season of drought, I'd be out dancing in it --- with shoes or without!

I will have to keep my eyes open for those. They look perfect for shopping on a rainy summer day. Thanks! :o)

When I read crocs, I was thinking of the super ugly ones with the holes in the tops and wondering what kind of outfit you could build around those. Your's are super cute and I would never guess they are crocs! Great idea for a rainy day since they won't be ruined if they get wet.

The top looks so cute with the denim clams! I am amazed that those shoes are crocs because they sure don't look like the ugly marshmallowy ones I see around my area.

Really cute--that is a great top! I had to check out this post to see how you are wearing Crocs, but if you hadn't said it, I would never have known. It's probably a good warm and pouring rain solution.

I love this outfit on you, Abie. What a gorgeous striped top, and the clamdiggers are perfect too. I wouldn't have known either if you hadn't told us these were Crocs;-)

You look great in this! love those crops and shoes....I may have to rethink crocs

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

Oh very nice! The lighter cuffs on the clams echo the stripes on your pretty blouse.
    Your make-up always looks pretty.

I don't think I've commented on one of your posts before though I've seen your WIW posts. WIsh I had more time to comment. In any case, I just wanted to say that I think you have great style. Today is yet another example of that. I will admit that I have been intrigued by some of the new crocs styles. That croc material is just so comfy and the new styles don't really read like crocs. Don't tell Angie.

I think this may be one of my favorite looks you've ever posted. The proportions and shapes are just perfection and those crocs are very cute and polished. You look fab!

You look gorgeous! I was frightened to look when you said crocs because I immediately thought of the original, ugly big ones, but these look really nice! I. Elieve crocs come on all sorts of styles now...even heels:)

Those are Crocs? Color me surprised!

I love that top on you! Nice outfit.

Thanks everyone, I am happy that my crocs were not tragic. I actually got them thrift. They still had the tags on and I thought they would make good shoes to wear with dresses for my september trip to Disney World. I hadn't considered they would be good rainy day options.

The one downside is they do make the flip flop noise a little. I think if I try some of the flats they would be better in that regard.

I am thrilled to hear that my makeup looks good. I have obsessed over finding the right makeup that I can apply in less than 5 minutes and will last all day in 100 degree weather. This summer I really feel like I made great choices and I've been super pleased with how it's worn. I will do a hot weather makeup post soon and maybe everyone can share their tips.
